Getting ready for our
Make and Take hour

Here are the materials you will need at the ready. Or if you don’t have these things to hand, don’t worry. This session will be recorded and you can come back anytime to try out the activities.


Family yoga

It can be nice to have a mat or blanket


Making a pin cushion
with Aimee Fagan, author of Sewing in the Montessori Classroom

  • a bottle cap (plastic or metal)
  • circle of fabric approx. 4 inches or 10 cm
  • needle
  • thread
  • scissors
  • hot glue and a glue gun, or strong craft glue

    Extras (not required)
  • Ribbon
  • Felt

Origami
with Yuki Martin

A squared sheet of paper is all that’s required. A standard size (6″x6″/15cmx15cm) origami paper would be ideal, but if it’s not available, you can cut some copy paper and turn into a square. Here is how:

pipe cleaners
a few wooden/plastic beads
embroidery floss
yarn
fabric scraps (or leather, coloured paper, feathers, roving, pet fur!)
needle and thread/glue
imagination and friendliness with error
